As a photographer, Gianfranco Bracci cohoperates untill the beginning of the newspaper Airone in wich he get the title of "Firma di Airone". He cohoperates with several other famous newspaper as Alp, La Rivista della Montagna, Venerdì di Repubblica. In the year 2000 he won the international contest "Casato Prime Donne" in Montalcino; here you can find the comment to his victory written by Sergio Zavoli:

"For Mr. Gianfranco Bracci the Senese champaign is at the same time a preferred subject and a challenge. For centuries it has attracted painters and photographers: some of them lost the challenge and they dropped into banality, others had dominated it creating an unreal point of view. Mr. Gianfranco Bracci won the challenge; his picture is a magistral reading of this reality. His subject is a typical hill of Val d'Orcia, The ground is nude and, far, we can see some houses and threes. At a deeper observation becomes exceptional this picture: the champaign is reproducted as really is, without artifaction, colours and light make the observer get the real point of view. We are in front of a mystery: same for centuryes, but diffrernt hour by hour. Gianfranco Bracci gave us a great interpretation of this no time land, where the growing grain seems like silk without time and the light softly touches the ground difformities as a careful lover"
